Beyond The Browser

Advanced Browsing

In this week’s lesson we were challenged to explore the common features of the big four web browsers. Our assignment was to create an Excel spreadsheet matrix of common differences. My chosen features to compare performances across browsers were: printing, page load times, CPU usage, browser cache performance, and search and navigate. My choice to rate these features were based on my experience and interest in computer performance. I learned very interesting performance features of each browser. Prior to rating these browsers my personal choice for technical reasons was Firefox. Firefox offers a bare bone browser is less receptive to security issues and hack attacks. My personal choice performance for productivity is Chrome. Chrome offers custom settings that load upon logging into the browser on any device. Internet explorer was always my last choice because of security issues and frequent attacks of spy ware, and viruses. Safari is the browser of choice for Mac computers.
